OVER THE last few days, we’ve learned Barbra Streisand has a real complex about people saying her name wrong.
On the weekend, it came out the icon contacted the head of Apple because the iPhone’s bratty helper Siri was pronouncing her surname as “Strei-zand”.
And now she’s schooled Australian 60 Minutes host Michael Usher for flubbing the pronunciation.
In a preview of the chat which will air this Sunday, the 73-year-old pulls him up.
“What’s my name?” she questions him after he says it.
“I got it wrong, didn’t I?” Usher replies.
“You said it with a Z. You got a double whammy,” she explained, before giving him a lesson on both articulation and emphasis. “Sand. Can you say ‘Barbra STREI-sand’, not ‘Strei-SAND’. STREI-sand,” she said.
“Barbra STREI-sand,” Micheal concluded.
“That’s right. He’s got it. My gosh, he’s got it,” she said.
So ... it’s Barbra Strei-ZAND?
